Welcome

Welcome to the Yearbook Course! This first blog entry will give you some basic links to get you started and outline our first lesson on Concept Design.

The Jostens Yearbook Avenue Site will be where all design and layout work is completed for the book. Once you have been given a login name be sure to vitit the site and begin exploring it. Remember our job number is 13875.

Today we will be discussing creating the Theme/Concept for the book. Jostens has a LIST of themes used in the past that may provide you with inspiration and give you an ide of the broad range of options available to you.

Our theme activity today will use this website: http://www.cssdesignawards.com/

Your job will be to explore webpages like the one shown below and describe what feeling their theme evokes. What kind of images and text do they use that helps support that feeling. It helps to look at a few websites before you begin analysing them to get a good sense for how they are all different.

To prepare for this week's Staff meeting begin to put together visual references and text that you think will support our theme. We will discuss this in detail in class and you will be given guidelines to follow.
